IS stress a sin? IS sin anything that seperates you from God, including natural human frailties? NO. If that were the case, the flu could be considered sin, because it upsets your natural bodily rhythms and makes it harder to pray (among other things). Sin is determined by a person’s reaction to events and experiences and NOT the other way around.

Thanks for commenting. Stress isn’t a sin. As the comic spells out, stress is an outside force that we can choose how to deal with. As you correctly point out, Sin is determined by a person’s reaction to events and experiences. Stress is the event, and if you allow it to fester and become anxiety, that is where sin can creep in. Allowing ourselves to get “stressed out” or “anxious” is the reaction you mention, not the event from outside forces. When we are under stress, we can choose to “worry incessantly” or to be still and know He is God.
