Check your Bibles…Exodus 20:
“Thou Shalt not Lie” is not in there except as a subset of other laws. “Thou shalt not lie with…_________” replace the underscores with someone/thing not your wife.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the correction. I was taught the 10 Commandments as a little child and I remember “Thou Shalt Not Lie” being in there, but I checked it and you are right. Maybe my church translated “Thou shalt not bear false witness…” that way because we were so young, or maybe it’s just something that’s been stuck in my head for years that’s wrong. And although the Bible does mention honesty in many places, my comic said that it “specifically stated ‘Thou shalt not lie.” So this is wrong and I’ll need to fix it before I publish the anthology of comics.

Thanks for that catch! I continue to learn more about the Bible everyday.
